The good thing about bad news is that they can accelerate positive developments. As most of you will have realised, the takeover of Mohawk has led to a rather abrupt end for Metapaper's much-loved EXTRAROUGH.
Good news is that we now have the official successor EXTRAROUGH 2.0 in stock, with a number of positive side effects. Most importantly, EXTRAROUGH 2.0 will be made in Europe in the future, making it much more sustainable. Transport routes and replenishment times will be shorter, transport costs will be lower and so will our price towards you.
We have also taken the opportunity to optimise all three shades - Coldwhite, White and Warmwhite - for the growing use of inkjet and digital finishing. On Scodix, the paper can be perfectly digitally enhanced after a single underprint.
The surface becomes a little rougher - in distinction to our ROUGH and ROUGH AIR. Warmwhite will be slightly more yellowish, White will remain identical and Coldwhite will be a touch less bluish, but more consistent in its whiteness. From now on, the range will start at 115 gsm and go up to 430 gsm as before. In our sample shop you can order EXTRAROUGH 2.0 in A4 format free of charge.
