Paper and print rocks! On 17 July, the Munich Print Festival 2024 took place at Zirka.Space in Munich - jointly organised by Metapaper, Slanted and Melville Design. With over 400 guests from the fields of design, marketing, production and a number of universities, it exceeded all expectations.

You could feel the creative atmosphere as soon as you entered the backyard of Zirka.space. Several visitors were fully immersed in the preparations for their upcoming Riso prints, while many colourful Riso prints were already hanging in the courtyard, forming a growing exhibition. An atmospheric start to an exciting day with 15 very different partners from the world of print and paper.

The live Riso printing on site with the Happy Accidents from The Happy Club (@thehappyclub.de) was particularly popular. But the visit to some of the leading Riso studios from Europe, such as Mr and Mrs Rio from Munich (@herrundfraurio), La Martiennerie from Romainville / Paris (@la_martiennerie) or Drucken 3000 from Berlin (@drucken3000), where live screen printing with the miScreen was possible, were also highlights.

It was particularly nice that the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg was represented with its Riso prints and that many students took part in the Munich Print Festival - wonderful young talents!

In addition to riso printing and miScreen screen printing, there were three other hands-on activities: At the workshop table of Sven Quaß (@svenquassmuenchen) you could try your hands on calligraphically, at the Werkstatt Höflich (@werkstatthoeflich) you had the chance "to letterpress" at the platen, and at Der Gilch / P5 (@dergilch / @p5_muenchen) it was possible to have your notebook bound with a thread knot binding.

Thanks to bc.Cards, the entire event was NFC-enhanced. The partners (@cs_manufaktur), Druckerei Vogl (@druckerei.vogl), MXM and Simon Marchner (@simonmarchner) shone with their print samples and inspirations for the visitors.

The Munich Print Festival was a complete success - people were printing, networking and talking until late into the evening. It showed that print and paper exert an incredible attraction and fascination when they can be experienced live together. Many thanks to all partners, friends and visitors for their support and participation. It was great! And we can already reveal one thing: The upcoming events will be even better. Stay tuned!
