"Last notes before entering the building" was the exhibition title for the 20 Meisterschüler: innen 2021 of the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. The exhibition was on view until January 9, 2022 at the Weserburg Museum für Moderne Kunst and the GAK Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst.
The exhibition catalogue consisted of 21 booklets. Each workbook represented an artist in the exhibition. Within the books was space for works text (DE & EN), works photographs and an artist’s note to the reader. In these "last notes" - in the form of quotes and images - the artists provide an insight into their artistic thought and work process.
The catalogue illustrations were created by the designer Hannah Füsser. With great sensitivity, characteristic shapes and colors were analyzed from each individual artist’s work and adapted into an illustration to deliver an individual look and personality for each workbook. This also serves the recipient as an orientation through the entire catalog.
All workbooks are connected to each other by a cover - consisting of a double-sided printed and custom-made poster - to form a catalog. The poster is composed of the actual exhibition poster and the usual catalog information. This composition also results in a contemporary document (a note) of an exhibition in times of change.
