At Metapaper, the reduction of CO2 emissions is the central sustainability goal. Only if we manage to significantly reduce CO2 emissions together can we achieve the goal of limiting global warming to around 1.5 degrees. The good news is that in the paper industry, we are largely on the right track and now offer paper in our range that have virtually no emissions (e.g., Lessebo with 11 kg CO2 per ton). We are working towards significantly reducing the carbon footprint, primarily through the increasing use of renewable energy. As an example, the carbon footprint of our ROUGH AIR paper will decrease by approximately 25%, from 487 kg CO2 per ton in 2024 to an estimated 366 kg in 2025, due to the increased use of renewable energy.
