What you'll find with us:
Lessebo is the world's only and therefore naturally also the first Cradle to Cradle Gold certified paper mill, which therefore fulfils all areas of a circular process.
In addition, Lessebo is the paper mill with the lowest known CO2 emissions of only an incredible 11kg CO2 per tonne of paper. This is achieved by sourcing all raw materials from within a 70 kilometre radius and producing 100% of the paper from renewable energy. For comparison: paper produced from fossil fuels often produces over 1,000 kg of CO2 per tonne of paper, i.e. a hundred times more.
To even come close to achieving the 1.5 degree target, reducing the CO2 footprint is by far the most important sustainability goal. Lessebo is setting new standards here. Incidentally, in our view, CO2 emissions are more important than whether a paper is made from recycled fibres or not. Recycling and upcycling are good, no question, but CO2 emissions are ultimately more important.
If you want to print sustainably in very good quality, Lessebo is your best choice. One email consumes around 0.3 grams of CO2 (source: The Guardian), whereas an A4 sheet of Lessebo 120 gsm consumes only 0.11 grams of CO2 ex works. Better, right?
All papers will soon be available under the Lessebo button in our shop and in our sample shop.
Lessebo SMOOTH and ROUGH 1.3 are ideal for offset printing and toner digital printing. Only the SMOOTH surface works for HP Indigo digital printing and only the ROUGH 1.3 surface for Riso.
